Ten gateways located on Lake District hillsides are meticulously vandalised in gold leaf, transformed into portals to a world more utopian. Framed with embellished gold, this series of photographic prints examines our relationship with the natural world and the ideals we impose upon it, referencing the Romantic poets and contemporary escapism.
Golden Gateways form part of a portfolio of investigations by artist Kate Gilman Brundrett that highlight our accustomed rules and systems and transpire in multi-layered and often humorous end points.
